Benelux Congress of Zoology

The Benelux Zoology Congress 2024 (Zoology2024) will be organized by the University of Mons in Wallonia, Belgium, on December 12 th and 13th 2024. The congress invites contributions from across the field of zoology, ranging from molecular research to large-scale biosphere analyses.

    • Early registration deadline: We are working hard to keep fees as low as possible to encourage broad participation in the event. Therefore, the early registration deadline has been extended to December 5, 2024, which also serves as the final registration deadline.

    • Abstract acceptance notification: November 7-30th, 2024 (deadline extension)
    • Picture submission for the Best Picture Contest: November 15th, 2024 (deadline extension)

Congratulations to the Winners of the Best Poster/Oral Presentation Award!

The Zoology 2024 Conference team and the Royal Belgian Zoological Society are thrilled to announce the winners of the Best Oral/Poster Presentation Awards.

  • Imke Tomsin (UHasselt) – Best Oral Presentation Award for her work entitled:
    “Evaluating Conservation Efforts for the European Hamster: Insights from Predictive Modelling.”
  • Zorimar Villella-Pacheco (KULeuven) – Best Poster Award for her work entitled:
    “Unraveling the Gene Regulatory Networks of Predator-Induced Developmental Plasticity Within and Across Generations in Daphnia magna.”

Their outstanding contributions were recognized for their exceptional quality, clarity, and significant scientific impact. Both awards celebrate their innovative research, which continues to inspire and advance the field of zoology.

As a token of recognition, each winner will receive a prize of 250 euros, generously provided by the Royal Belgian Zoological Society and the Zoology 2024 committee.

Congratulations to Imke and Zorimar on these well-deserved achievements!

In addition, we also gave the Best Picture Award to Benjamin Decoux (UMONSfor his picture entitled: “Alien Nursery, third postlarval instar of the sea spider Ammothea hilgendorfi, an invasive species in the North Sea.”
