On World Wildlife Day 2021, RBZS joined officially the Global Coalition “#UnitedforBiodiversity”, an initiative of the EU Commissioner for Environment Virginijus Sinkevicius. The Coalition calls on all museums, national parks, zoos, aquariums, botanic gardens, and research institutions (including universities) to join forces in raising the alarm about the nature crisis and the need to protect biodiversity, ahead of the crucial CoP 15 of the Convention on Biological Diversity in China. At a time one million species are at risk of extinction within decades unless we take urgent action, as official supporters, we call on all to act and invite all Belgian research institutions and all our international partners to speak up for nature by joining this important movement.
